Ingredients

  • 1 pack Silver Fern Farms Premium Ground Venison 
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried chili flakes, plus extra for sprinkling
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 red bell pepper, deseeded and diced roughly
  • 1 can red kidney beans, washed and drained
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Sour cream for serving
  • 1 handful cilantro leaves

Method

Heat a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook the ground venison in the oil, stirring, for 4-5 minutes until browned. Add onion, garlic, spices, and chili flakes. Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes.

Add the crushed tomatoes, diced bell pepper, kidney beans, and stock. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes. Stir in the salt.

Serve on freshly simmered spaghetti topped with sour cream, extra chili flakes and chopped cilantro leaves.
