Ingredients

  • 1 pack Silver Fern Farms Premium Ground Venison 
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil 
  • 1 onion, diced finely 
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed 
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 1 green chili, deseeded and finely chopped
  • ½ tsp each: ground coriander and cumin
  • 2 large tomatoes, diced finely 
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp each: chopped fresh cilantro and mint 
  • 4 fresh naan bread

Herbed Yoghurt

  • 1 cup plain unsweetened yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp each: chopped fresh cilantro and mint 
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • Zest of ½ a lemon
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

Method

Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Sauté the onion and garlic until soft. Add the venison and raisins and cook until the meat is browned. Add the chili, coriander, cumin, and tomato. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add lemon juice, cilantro, and mint. Season to taste.

To make the herbed yogurt, place the ingredients in a small bowl and stir to combine.

Serve spiced venison on top of warmed naan bread and top with herbed yogurt.
